DIVINE MERCY PILGRIMAGE TO POLAND & ITALY
Day 1
Board your flight to Warsaw, Poland. Meal served on board.
Day 2
Upon arrival meet your guide. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw.
Day 3
Morning Mass at St John’s Cathedral, where you can pray at the tomb of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski the Primate of the Millennium. After lunch at the Old town transfer to Czestochowa/ 240 km/ the spiritual capitol of Poland. Dinner and overnight at Jasna Gora.
Day 4
Morning guided tour of Jasna Góra Monastery, the spiritual capitol of Poland followed by Mass celebrated in front of the Miraculous Icon of Black Madonna venerated as “Queen of Poland”. In the afternoon transfer to Auschwitz Concentration Camp, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust. Visit a starvation cell of St. Maksymilian Kolbe. Evening arrival in Kraków for dinner and overnight.
Day 5
Mass at the world capitol of the Divine Mercy in Krakow – Lagiewniki where St. Sister Faustina is buried. In the afternoon guided tour of Krakow: ”On the footsteps of John Paul II”. Guided tour of the Cathedral, Royal Tombs and Sigismund Tower, where you can venerate relics of the Polish patron saints: St Queen Jadwiga and St Stanislaw. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Departure for Wadowice birthplace of John Paul II. Visit a Basilica where the pope was baptized and his childhood home converted into a museum. Free afternoon in Krakow. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7
After an early morning Mass in Krakow transfer to Vienna. Travel by coach through the lush Bohemian countryside. Dinner and overnight in Vienna.
Day 8
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Vienna, the city of Waltz and Imperial architecture. Sights include St. Steven’s Cathedral, where we celebrate Mass, the Ringstrasse with its Habsburg monuments and the Old Town with the Hofburg Palace. The reminder of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Vienna.
Day 9
Transitional day. Transfer to Italy for dinner and overnight in Padua. Evening Mass in Padua. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10
Departure for Venice for a tour of the city. Visit the Golden Basilica of St Mark and celebrate Mass by tomb of St Mark the Evangelist, patron saint of Venice. In the afternoon we return to Padua to visit the Basilica of St Anthony. Dinner and overnight in Padua.
Day 11
Continue your journey through Italy heading for Assisi, the city of St Francis. Afternoon Mass at St. Mary of the Angels Basilica where St Francis spent most of his life. Here we visit the Chapel of Transition, Portiuncola and the Rose garden. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 12
After morning Mass at the Basilica of St Francis, the burial place of the saint, visit the Basilica of St. Clare where you can venerate the miraculous crucifix from which Jesus spoke to St Francis. After lunch in Assisi transfer to Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome
Day 13
Mass at the Catacombs followed by a visit to St Paul outside the Walls. Tour of “Christian Rome”. Visit St. Mary Major and St. John Lateran. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 14
Mass at St Peter’s Basilica built on the site where the Prince of the Apostles was martyred and buried. Guided tour of St Peters and the Vatican Museum. The balance of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 15
After morning Mass attend General Audience at the Vatican, meet Pope Francis and receive the papal blessing. In the afternoon tour of the “Ancient Rome” –Colosseum, Forum Romanum and the Capitolin Hill. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 16
Morning transfer to airport for your return flight home.
